9 Fremont High School students competed at the Nebraska State SkillsUSA Leadership Conference in Grand Island, NE during April 9-11th, 2026. Fremont High School was represented in the following contests: Basic Healthcare, Carpentry, Intro to Welding, Job Interview, Photography, Power Equipment Technology, Welding, and Welding Sculpture.
The FHS SkillsUSA chapter returned to Fremont with one State Champion and two 3rd place finishes by Keyli Lopez Rosales in Basic Health Care Skills and Joseph Ondracek in Carpentry. By becoming champion in a National qualifying event, Bella is now invited to represent FHS as Nebraska’s high school masonry representative at the National SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta, GA, June 1-5, 2026. They worked very hard preparing in their areas and I have no doubt that she will represent FHS very well against the best that the rest of the Nation has to offer. A very special thanks to all those involved in getting these outstanding students ready for their competitions. Without everyone’s help, this would not be possible. Since 2014 FHS has had 71 medalists and 22 State Champions.
