Kolaya Wilmer & Jack Larsen

Fremont, Neb. – (June 8, 2026) Fremont Public Schools is pleased to celebrate the success of 2026 FHS Seniors Kolaya Wilmer and Jack Larsen.

Jack and Kolaya were selected by audition by the Omaha Performing Arts to be two of the fourteen state finalists for Nebraska this spring based on their performances in the FHS Les Miserables musical in March. They participated in the Nebraska Theatre Awards through the Omaha Performing Arts. At the conclusion of the event, they were featured in the Finalist Ensemble, the Showcase Ensemble, and individually at the Orpheum Theatre. It is an incredible honor for them to have been selected from a pool of 150+ auditionees. 

Kolaya was also named one of two Nebraska designees to participate at the Jimmy Awards in New York City in June, edging out the six other outstanding female finalists. This is the first instance in FHS history of a student being selected for this honor. In other words, Kolaya has been recognized as the top female music theatre performer in Nebraska this year with an opportunity to compete nationally. She will head to New York City at the end of this week.
