The Fremont community once again displayed its unwavering generosity during the May 8th Fremont Area BIG GIVE event, raising more than $25,000 to support Dual Credit courses for Fremont High students in need. This remarkable achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of local businesses, alumni, staff, parents, and community members.
Lincoln Premium Poultry and Fremont Beef played a vital role in the fundraising event, each providing matching donations during the "power hours" of the campaign, up to a total of $1,500 each. Their contributions were instrumental in encouraging others to donate and helping the campaign reach its goal.
Throughout the day, donations poured in from various members of the community, all eager to support not just the FPS Foundation but also a wide variety of other organizations. This collective effort resulted in more than $480,000 in total donations to 83 nonprofits, highlighting the community's strong commitment to improving the quality of life in Fremont.
Kevin Eairleywine, FPS Foundation Executive Director, expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support, stating, "Fremont has once again demonstrated its generosity and unwavering dedication to education." The funds raised during the Fremont Area BIG GIVE will have a significant impact on students' lives, providing them with opportunities to earn college credits while still in high school and better preparing them for their future academic and professional pursuits.
The success of this year's Fremont Area BIG GIVE serves as a testament to the power of community involvement and the importance of investing in education. Thanks to the support of countless individuals and businesses, the FPS Foundation can continue its mission of fostering academic excellence and supporting students in reaching their full potential.
